Roberto Sollazzo

Roberto Sollazzo is a Senior Researcher at RCS Global. Roberto is a PhD in African History and Politics, with more than seven years of experience as a political analyst in transitional and post-crisis contexts. He gained experience as a programme officer managing several community development projects in Latin America and the Middle East. After completing his doctoral thesis on the role of diamonds in fuelling the Angolan conflict, Roberto joined the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cote d’Ivoire (ONUCI), where as Deputy Chief, he contributed to the design and launch of an integrated civilian-military arms and diamonds embargo cell. Recently, Roberto has worked as a consultant for the European Union Electoral Observation missions in Cote d’Ivoire, Niger and Tunisia. Roberto has also led a multi-country research project on Chinese investment patterns in Africa’s natural resources sector. He is proficient in Italian, English, Spanish and French.
