Noora Jamsheer is a diamond expert with more than 10 years of experience in the diamond industry. As a diamond expert, she has worked for the United Nations Group of Experts on Côte d’Ivoire where she monitored the enforcement of UN sanctions. She has participated in the review and implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in several Middle Eastern countries including the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Ghana. She has authored several chapters on diamonds in the UN Group of Experts’ reports (S/2009/188, S/2009/521, S/2010/179, and S/2011/271). She is also a certified diamond grader of both rough and polished diamonds. She was responsible for the development and the management of the first diamond exchange in the Middle East, the Dubai Diamond Exchange. Noora founded ‘Developing Diamonds’ - the first Arab non-profit organization committed to socio-economic development of livelihoods involved in the diamond industry. She also has an impressive background in financial analysis and investment management having worked with HSBC Financial Services Middle East (Dubai), Saif Investments and Taib Bank. Noora holds a MSc degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University and a BSc degree in Finance, Investment and Economics.
