Technical Director: Audit (Responsible Sourcing Practice)

In its 10th year of operation, RCS Global is one of the world’s leading responsible raw materials supply chain audit and advisory groups.

Our clients include some of the largest and most respected companies and institutions in the world. While our work for them is diverse, it includes the design, development and implementation of custom and industry audit programs to make sure they meet the demands of regulators and customers.

The company has experienced considerable growth over the last 18 months and we are now looking to appoint a new Director to join the company and help consolidate and drive further expansion.

For the role, Technical Director: Audit (Responsible Sourcing Practice), we are specifically seeking an experienced audit program manager excited about the prospect of further developing their work in this field, while taking on the responsibility of leading our audit practice.

An ideal candidate will be a hardworking and motivated individual with management experience, an established reputation in this field, and their own network.

Candidates ideally will be able to quickly settle in to leading our global practice developing, implementing and maintaining new and existing audit programs. The candidate will receive the full support of the current RCS Directors and staff in order to do this.
The compensation package is competitive and negotiable but will be dependent on experience. The successful candidate will be provided with a fast track into RCS Global partnership.

Please note: This position requires international travel. Applicants can be based anywhere within a reasonable travel distance from an international airport and with access to fibre optic internet. Applicants should have permission to work, in either Europe and/or North America. All RCS Global staff are required to occasionally join conference calls outside office hours.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities with the support of the audit team, include:

  • Manage and lead RCS Global’s global audit practice as part of RCS Global’s leadership team, including developing the company strategy for the audit practice;
  • Oversee RCS Global’s audit specific technical work, including developing and maintaining audit programs for responsible supply chains, and the design, development and maintenance of audit procedures, audit guidance and audit tools;
  • Managing existing audit and related advisory programs, including: proposal writing, auditor selection and contracting, audit planning and quality assurance;
  • Maintain RCS Global’s auditor accreditations, including the company’s quality assurance process, as required by auditing bodies;
  • Develop and deliver online and/or classroom training to auditors and auditees worldwide;
  • Manage audit sub-managers, employees and contractors, including the management of a staff database, and quality control outputs;
  • Assist in delivery and/or project management of advisory work on compliance with due diligence regulations, particularly where there is an audit component;
  • Conduct high profile audits, as needed, where a senior auditor is needed;
  • Represent RCS Global at conferences, industry events and stakeholder consultations;
  • Conduct typical day to day office duties required for your position, such as inter-office communication and time management.

Secondary responsibilities include:

  • Support new business development, including proposal development, networking and responding to client enquiries;
  • Learn the ropes on our advisory work as there are direct links between our advisory and audit program development work;
  • Gain subject matter expertise on RCS Global’s Responsible Sourcing work;
  • Contribute to our global outreach in the form of media as well as stakeholder engagements;
  • As part of the senior team members of RCS Global, you will contribute the strategic development of our business. This will include assisting, and sometimes leading, on the development of new products and services for our clients, as well as marketing and presentation material as and when necessary.

We are looking for a personable and ambitious individual who is able to manage multiple projects, staff members and meet client deadlines. Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of experience which should include:

  • The organization and quality assurance for audit programs;
  • The development of audit programs including tools and protocols and training;
  • The recruitment, contracting and management of audit staff;
  • An existing network, and understanding of business opportunities within the responsible sourcing space.

  • The ability to network and GREAT intra-team and client facing communication. This position requires close collaboration with RCS Global’s clients including industry mechanisms, audit programs and companies. Both RCS Global and our clients value effective, open and honest communication;
  • Excellent written and spoken English with additional languages as a plus;
  • The ability to manage projects by yourself with support from the rest of the team as required;
  • Hard working individuals with a strong work ethic who are comfortable working in a horizontal company structure;

Subject matter expertise in EHS and environmental auditing as a plus, although it is not a requirement.

Responsible Supply Chains Audit Manager

We are looking for an experienced audit program manager excited about working in this field who is ready to take the next step in their career by joining our responsible supply chains audit and advisory team in a leadership position. An ideal candidate will be a hardworking and motivated individual with management experience who will quickly be able to lead the development and implementation of new audit programs.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with RCS’ Head of Auditing to develop audit programs for responsible supply chains, including the development of audit procedures, audit guidance and audit tools;
  • Develop and deliver online and/or classroom training to auditors and auditees worldwide;
  • Assist the RCS Head of Auditing in managing existing audit and related advisory programs, including: proposal writing, auditor selection and contracting, audit planning and quality assurance;
  • Manage audit employees and contractors, including the management of a staff database, and quality control outputs;
  • Assist in delivery and/or project management of advisory work on compliance with due diligence regulations, particularly where there is an audit component;
  • Conduct high profile audits where a senior auditor is needed;
  • Conduct typical day to day office duties required for your position, such as inter-office communication and time management.

Please note starting salary is negotiable and will depend on experience.
