After considerable growth over the last 24 months we are now looking to appoint an experienced audit program and advisory manager excited about working in this field who is ready to take the next step in their career.

An ideal candidate will be technical proficient, hard-working, detail-orientated and motivated individual with team management and client facing experience who will quickly be able to complement and later lead our team’s work on the implementation of new and existing audit programs.

We also undertake considerable advisory work to industry programs where technical audit experience is beneficial to our clients. This will be a dual role, whereby the role will provide for a balance of audit program management and audit related advisory work.

This position requires some international travel (up to 20%). Applicants can be based anywhere in Europe or the United States within a reasonable travel distance from an international airport and with access to fibre optic internet. Applicants should have permission to work, in either Europe and/or North America. All RCS Global staff are required to occasionally join conference calls outside office hours. Remuneration is competitive and depends on experience. The position is home or shared office based with communication with the global team through Slack, Skype, conference calls and occasional meetings.

Personal specifications: :
    We are looking for a personable and ambitious individual who is able to manage multiple projects, enjoys interaction with staff members and meet client deadlines. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience which should include:
  • Some experience in responsible sourcing auditing
  • Understanding and experience of the organization and quality assurance for audit programs
  • Experience and technical expertise in the development of audit programs including tools and protocols and training
  • Experience is client and audit program management
  • A willingness to expand an existing network with RCS Global’s help and in a further evolutionary step, understand and act upon business opportunities within the responsible sourcing space, with support of RCS Global’s leadership team

Primary responsibilities, with the support of the audit team, include: :
  • Manage RCS Global’s audit work with RCS Global’s leadership team, including client liaison and management
  • Implementing and overseeing RCS Global’s audit specific technical work, including developing and maintaining audit programs for responsible supply chains, and the design, development and maintenance of audit procedures, audit guidance and audit tools
  • Managing existing audit and related advisory programs, including: SOW writing, auditor selection and contracting, audit planning and quality assurance
  • Maintain RCS Global’s auditor accreditations, including the company’s quality assurance process, as required by auditing bodies
  • Manage audit sub-managers, employees and contractors, including the management of a staff database, and quality control outputs
  • Direct staff to develop and deliver online and/or classroom training to auditors and auditees worldwide
  • Assist in delivery and/or project management of advisory work on compliance with due diligence regulations, particularly where there is an audit component
  • Conduct high profile audits where a senior auditor is needed
  • Represent RCS Global at conferences, industry events and stakeholder consultations
  • Conduct typical day to day office duties required for your position, such as inter-office communication and time management.

Secondary responsibilities include:
  • Support new business development, as appropriate, including proposal development, networking and responding to client enquiries
  • Gain subject matter expertise on RCS Global’s Responsible Sourcing work
  • Contribute to our global outreach and network maintenance

Vacancy - project director

After considerable growth over the last 24 months we are now looking to appoint a detail orientated and critically thinking project director excited about working in this field who is ready to take the next step in her/his career.

An ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of experience with project management, research, advisory and some responsible supply chain knowledge.

The candidate will be directly mentored by RCS Global’s senior management team with global career development opportunities and a structured pathway into a leadership position. The role is an unprecedented learning opportunity across multiple projects in multiple geographies.

Personal specifications:
  • An entrepreneurial, self-starter with the ability to work proactively without constant close supervision
  • Knowledge of or exposure to mining, sustainability, supply chains and global business trends
  • Experience in business consulting and/or client-oriented service provider work
  • Fluency in English is a must. French and/or Spanish language proficiency would be a distinct advantage
  • Candidates with a Masters degree in a Business and Economics field are preferred, although this is not a core requirement

Role requirements:
  • Travel: This position requires international travel (up to 20%) and sometimes in development countries with limited infrastructure
  • Location: There is a clear preference for the applicant to work from our Johannesburg office, however working remotely is an option. Secondments to other offices are also possible (work permit contingent)
  • Remuneration: Competitive package depending on experience

Role Responsibilities:
  • Take on project management responsibilities, including project and contractually related liaison with clients and subcontractors. This extends to coordinating project delivery and output under supervision of the relevant Senior Project Director and/or one of the Directors
  • Conduct research, analysis and report/presentation writing to the best of his/her ability and to the deadline requested by the (project) Director(s) (as appropriate)
  • Conduct fieldwork and act as team leader for teams in the field when appropriate
  • Present research results in a manner appropriate to the task and intended recipients, in RCS’ style and using the templates provided by RCS. In particular, research should be presented as close to publication standard as possible, fully referenced and in fluid prose
  • Participate in RCS Global’s IP development through our internal research and tools development process
  • Contribute to new business development work under the supervision of Directors. In particular the project director will:
  • Contribute actively to RCS Global’s regular communication tools, including industry briefing notes, newsletter, blogs, webinars, tweets etc.
  • Prepare proposals
  • Take project discussions forward under supervision or in partnership with a Senior Project Director or one of the Directors (as appropriate)
  • Identify, create and develop business leads and partnerships with RCS Global’s partners
  • Attend outside events as required, write briefing notes and/or report back to the rest of the team
